Surprises and the Best of the Best
We already mentioned the surprises of the Xbox 360 Games of 2008. But there is still one game that needs to be mentioned. It shares third position with Pure. It’s just an Arcade-Game from the Xbox Live Arcade Platform: Braid. A wonderful game to play, the simple but still demanding mysteries have inspired a lot of fans.
Let’s talk about the Best of the Best now, the Games of the Year. It was not an easy task to decide which game should be king; there have been a lot of great releases in 2008. The users had a hard time, too, to make up their minds. This is why this review decided to crown not one but three games to king. All three of these were given the same amount of votes in numerous surveys throughout Europe. So, the Best of the Best goes to the WWII-Shooter Call of Duty: World at War, the exceptional Role Game Fallout 3 and the indexed G.o.W.2.
Preview: Games of 2009
2008 has been a great year for gamers all over the world, the shelves are full and not all the games have even been played through, yet. But 2009 will also have ist highlights, and things to look forward to. In February we saw EA with Skate 2 appear. Part one has already made “Surprise of the Year 2007”. At the end of January we saw a new competitor for Forza Motorsport 2: Race PRO made its appearance. Offroad-Fans will see the second part of Colin McRae: DIRT, which will leave a lot of mouths gaping.
Retro-Fans will see a new release of one of the best Beat ’em Ups in a long time: Street Fighter IV, which has been praised in many Previews already.
Also from SEGA comes a remake of Bionic Commando, all jazzed up in 3D. Another revival will be Aliens: Colonial Marines. A real scary alien threat scenario, a mix of Left 4 Dead, Brothers in Arms and Call of Duty. Talk about Shooters, die developers from Infinity Ward will continue its success of Call of Duty 4. Part 6 of the series will be a direct follow-up to part 4 and promises weeks of Multiplayer-Battles.
Even more horror and action comes with Resident Evil 5 around march. So many new or sequel games have been announced fort his year, no need to worry about supply. Lots of folks are moaning, because they haven’t even finished half of the 2008 releases yet.
