  1. ive tried it to (even though i knew it wouldnt boot) mainly because the ps3 disc’s are blueray and ps2 dont have a bluray drive

  2. The answer is no, i mean when i had no experience with my PS1 i tried playing PS2 games on it i mean really even if they suspected the outcome of the PS2 then they wouldn’t do that now don’t bother buying a PS3 game for your PS2 cause it isn’t going to work its just common sense

  3. Think of ps2 as a 6 year-old, and the ps3 as his 13 year old brother. The 13 year old could do his little brother’s arithmetic homework with no problems. What happens when you set the 13 year old’s pre-algebra book in front of his little brother? It all looks like gibberish to him because it’s way too advanced.

  4. Either you are the dumbest kid ever or you’re * with me.

There is nothing in the history of computers that is “Forward Compatible”

NO YOU CAN’T PLAY PS3 GAMES ON PS2

  5. The answer of course is no. Different architecture, different operating systems, etc.

It is intersting to note, that Sony has dropped their “Backwards Compatibility” as well, and because it didnt make sense I had to find out why (as the first PS3 were reverse compatible).

The answer turns out to be, that even now Sony are selling new PS2, (as well as refurbished PS2), and that it is still the biggest seller in Games boxes (XBox is expected to take over in 2009).
